Eaglais, Dún Lúiche, Contae Dhún na nGall

Following the death of James Russell, landlord of Dunlewey Estate, on the 2nd of September 1848 his wife Jane Smith Russell commissioned the building of this church as a memorial. All materials were sourced locally, from the white marble and blue quartzite to the red brick in the window arches, supplies of all of which have since been depleted.

A very difficult image to capture owing to the prevailing conditions but definitely a case of right place right time.

Limited edition of 100.
